News and Future Projects

Since my last blog post, I’ve released quite a few books, mainly in the Submissive Lesbian Personal Assistant series.

There are now five books in the SLPA series and I plan to end the first story arc with book six, Driven by her Lesbian Boss.

Once that is out, I’ll release the omnibus of the whole series so far.

I’m writing some companion books to the main series, Amber’s Culinary Adventures. These are short stories that will offer a tempting morsel from Amber’s life and will also be released in an omnibus edition once I’ve finished them.

They’re intended to be read in Kindle Unlimited which won’t cost you anything but you can buy them for £0.99/$0.99 too, though if you can wait, I’d recommend saving your money and getting them as an omnibus because that’ll be a little cheaper in the long run.

A Dash of Pepper is the first of these but I can’t link it as I write this post as it only went up last night and isn’t live on Amazon yet.

Hellcat Academy: Succubus Sorority

When Carlotta Black and I started Enchanted (book 1 of our Hellcat Academy series), we’d intended to make it an erotic reverse harem series of novellas and release them quite rapidly.

We switched halfway through and decided we wanted to aim for erotic romance. We’d done a ton of worldbuilding, got titles and outlines for five books and a series story arc that would be complete after those five were done.

Izzy and Kaos, our succubus heroines, would assemble their harems one book at a time, and face trials at the end of each book as they competed to be elected Queen of the succubi on their academy campus.

Each book would focus on a new type of recruit, werewolves, vampires and so on.

That didn’t pan out for various reasons such as long term illness and other commitments, but we also lost momentum because the first book didn’t sell. That was discouraging. I’d hoped that we could sell enough books to demonstrate that the idea had legs. 

In later books, Izzy and Kaos would have discovered a conspiracy against their entire race, and have to work to defeat the bad guys and change their world forever. All while competing to be the next Queen. 

Izzy would have the main romantic storyline, as she unexpectedly falls in love with her harem, something that just doesn’t happen to succubi in our world. Kaos would have a more traditional succubus harem, consisting of men she liked but couldn’t love. They’re mainly there for sex and as a food source (of sexual energy, nothing horrific!).

That obviously didn’t work. We’d failed to hit the tropes of paranormal academy reverse harem properly. They’re often quite steamy (yay!) but they focus on one main character and her life. There’s immediate adversity from bullies or full-on villains. 

Our book had two points of view, the villains were just being teased until the mid-point of the series, and there wasn’t enough exploration of the extensive world we’d built as a setting. 

Ultimately, we haven’t finished the project but we do think it’s possible to do so, and as soon as Carlotta is feeling well again, we’ll do just that.

What’s the plan?

We’re going to take the existing outline for the series and completely revamp it. 

• Our villains will make themselves known in book one
• Izzy will be the main POV character
• Kaos will be there, but her harem scenes won’t
• We’ll explore some of their daily academy life
• Their focus will be on resolving the conflict with the villains who oppose them
• At the same time, Izzy will develop her romance with her growing harem
• Because that’s actually a crucial part of the plot and the fight against the bad guys
• We’ll make the paranormal academy elements much more prominent, it’s important to the story
• We’ll make the reverse harem focused on the one Izzy builds
• We’ll make sure the romance arc is there in each book for the new member of her harem
• It’ll still be steamy, but only Izzy steamy, not Kaos steamy!

What about Kaos then? Well, if you happened to be one of the few people who’ve read Enchanted (thanks!) you’d know that Kaos recruits two members to her harem at once. Her scenes are quite filthy in comparison to Izzy’s solo scenes. 

But there are plenty of readers who do really like the kind of niche sexual escapades I was writing for Kaos (Carlotta wrote Izzy’s thread, and I wrote Kaos, then we edited each other). 

We don’t plan to entirely abandon those scenes or what Kaos is doing. There’s a tentative plan for me to write an erotic romance series which shows you what’s happening to Kaos, as she recruits her harem. It would chronologically run alongside the main series, but there would be no need to read it at all, if you just want to follow the storyline. There might also be some short stories about Kaos as she does get into all sorts of her own trouble.

Doing any of that would be dependent on the main series doing well though. If it doesn’t, we’ll have to move on to other projects but we do intend to finish it up. 

What if Hellcat Academy: Succubus Sorority sells?

That would be fantastic. It doesn’t have to be a bestseller for Carlotta or me to consider it a success.

It does need to sell enough copies to pay for better covers and some bills though. If not, we’d be financially wiser to concentrate our efforts elsewhere.

If enough readers go through the series, we’ll write another sequence set in the Hellcat Academy world. 

It doesn’t have to be a massive bestseller for it to be worth us doing more though. I’d like to replace my broken electric oven for instance!

We have two ways we can develop the series in future, either by writing about another year of Izzy’s life or by exploring the other sororities and fraternities on the Hellcat Academy campus.

Hellcat Academy has lots of students, from succubi to incubi (ok, that’s kind of the same thing), vampires to werewolves, witches and warlocks and much rarer supernatural creatures. 

The great thing about extensive worldbuilding is that once you’ve got a setting going, you can easily build on it with more series.
